Apple Unveils HomeView Smart Display and LG-Built Home Collection
Apple announced HomeView, a $299 smart display, plus new Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2 on October 13, alongside seven Home Collection accessories.
Apple announced HomeView, a 7-inch tabletop and wall-mountable smart display with a Liquid Retina display and A18 chip, on October 13 local time, according to TechM. The device is priced at $299 in the US for both models and launches on November 13 in some countries. No Korean release schedule was announced.
The display recognizes up to six faces and shows each person's home screen and widgets, requiring Face ID-like conditions and an unlocked paired iPhone or iPad for personal messages and schedules.
Apple also announced the Apple Home Collection, a smart home accessory lineup co-developed with LG Electronics comprising seven products: four cameras, a smart door lock, a smart thermostat and a temperature/humidity sensor. The video doorbell has a 2.5K front camera and a Full HD bottom camera to check packages, and ringing the bell triggers notifications on HomeView or HomePod. The Smart Deadbolt Lock uses UWB technology to automatically unlock when a user with a registered Home Key on a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch approaches.
The Home Collection is managed in the Apple Home app without a separate manufacturer app or account, and automations can lock doors, start camera recording and adjust temperature when the last family member leaves. Camera event recordings are stored for 10 days via a supported iCloud+ plan, while video summaries and natural language search require a supported plan and Apple Intelligence devices.
The Home Collection rolls out progressively from December, with some products arriving in early 2027. US prices include the LG indoor camera at $199.95, doorbell at $249.95, outdoor camera at $299.95, floodlight camera from $399.95, door lock at $349.95, thermostat at $199.95 and sensor from $39.95. LG products launch in the US and Canada, with cameras and doorbells supplied to the UK.
Apple also introduced the new Apple TV 4K with an A19 chip and three far-field microphones, and the HomePod mini 2, which supports voice control and automation with Siri AI via a future software update.
