Apple Lists HomeView Launch Apps, Four Need an iPhone

Apple says HomeView will ship on November 13 with a set of first-party apps, while Audiobooks, Classical Music, News and TV require an iPhone connection.

Apple has published the list of first-party apps that will be available on HomeView when the device ships on November 13. The company is taking pre-orders for the product now, according to 9to5mac.com.

At launch, HomeView will include Alarms, Audiobooks, Calendar, Classical Music, FaceTime, Find My, Home, Intercom, Messages, Music, News, Podcasts, Reminders, Safari, Settings, Timers, TV, Weather and World Clock. Almost every app on the list is preinstalled on the device.

Four of them rely on an iPhone connection, Apple's website states: Audiobooks, Classical Music, News and TV.

Third-party apps can also appear on HomeView if they already have a CarPlay version and are classified as audio or video apps. Spotify is expected to be available on day one.

HomeView does not include a dedicated Photos app, though it does offer Photos faces and widgets. Apple describes HomeView as a brand new category of product that runs software not seen before.
