Apple announced its first smart display, the Apple HomeView, on October 13. The device is scheduled to launch in the United States on November 13 at a price of 299 dollars, according to game.watch.impress.co.jp.
The HomeView uses an aluminum chassis with a dome-shaped speaker base and a 7-inch Liquid Retina display connected by a hinge for angle adjustment. It is powered by the A18 SoC, the same chip used in devices such as the iPhone 16.
The device supports the new Siri AI, which Apple describes as a more capable assistant that understands personal context and recognizes on-screen information. It can recognize up to six people and provide each with a personalized experience, letting each user build their own home screen with apps and widgets.
The Apple HomeView comes in a tabletop version in silver, starlight, rose pink, and space gray, as well as a wall-mounted version in silver and space gray. Pre-orders have already begun in the United States and other markets.
