Apple Plans 150-Plus iPhone Duo Demo Units at Fifth Avenue
Ahead of the foldable's October 23, 2026 launch, Apple is reportedly planning new MagSafe stands and in-store fixtures to showcase the iPhone Duo.
Apple is reportedly preparing a large retail rollout for the iPhone Duo, with more than 150 demo units planned for its Fifth Avenue store in New York City. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman in the Power On newsletter, the units will be spread across hands-on demo stations and in-store fixtures.
The Apple Park Visitor Center will have nearly 100 iPhone Duo demo units, the report said. Several other locations, including Michigan Avenue in Chicago, the Grove in Los Angeles and the Upper West Side in Manhattan, will each receive roughly 30 to 40 units, while some smaller Apple stores will have around 20.
Apple has also designed a new MagSafe stand that holds an unfolded iPhone Duo alongside two standard iPhones, according to the report. Some demo units will be placed without a security tether along the sides of stores so customers can try StandBy mode, and Apple is planning a fixture for some stores that showcases the iPhone Duo opening and closing.
The iPhone Duo launches on October 23, 2026, with preorders on October 16, 2026, according to the report.
