Apple code leak reveals HomePod Mini 2, iPad mini 8, new Apple TV
Leaked images and details found in Apple's own code point to a HomePod Mini 2, an iPad mini 8 with the A20 Pro chip, and a refreshed Apple TV.
Apple still has hardware left to announce this year, and a fresh set of leaks suggests at least three products are waiting in the wings. The details and images were found inside Apple's own code by MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris, according to theverge.com.
The HomePod Mini 2 appears to keep the same overall design as the model that debuted in late 2020, but leaked images show it in new green, pink, blue, white, and black color options.
The iPad mini 8 would replace the seventh-generation model that launched two years ago. It moves from Apple's A17 Pro chip to the A20 Pro chip used in the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and iPhone Duo. Apple has also shifted the front-facing camera to the landscape edge, and a groove on the top edge of the display suggests an added speaker.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has previously reported that the next iPad could gain improved waterproofing through a new vibration-based speaker, along with an OLED display.
The Apple TV is nearly four years old, and the leaked design looks very similar to its predecessor. Perris has previously reported a possible upgrade to Apple's A17 Pro chip, and in 2024 Gurman said the next Apple TV would use Apple's in-house Bluetooth and Wi-Fi chip now known as the N1.
The leaks arrive after the iPhone 18 Pro and the folding iPhone Duo debuted earlier this month.
