Apple Music gets chunky lowercase logo in iOS 27.2 beta 3

Developer betas for macOS 27.2 and iOS 27.2 include a redesigned Apple Music wordmark with a thicker, all-lowercase font.

Apple has updated the Apple Music logo inside the macOS 27.2 and iOS 27.2 beta 3 developer betas, according to appleinsider.com. The new wordmark sets the word "Music" entirely in lower case and uses a noticeably thicker typeface than the current version.

The change was spotted by @madeby_ldt on X and later confirmed by leaker @aaronp613. The betas are developer builds, so the artwork has not appeared in a shipping version of either operating system.

The Apple Music logo had remained unchanged since the service launched in 2015, 11 years ago.

What changed

The revision is limited to the wordmark itself: the capital "M" is gone, and the strokes of the letters are heavier than in the version users have seen since the streaming service debuted.
