Beehiiv Raises Prices, Renames Scale Plan to Lite

Beehiiv is increasing prices for its mid-range plan, now called Lite, with costs rising by at least $10 per month for many creators.

Beehiiv, the newsletter platform popular among creators, is raising prices and renaming its mid-range Scale plan to Lite. The change means many creators will pay at least $10 more per month, depending on their subscriber count.

For up to 10,000 subscribers, the Lite plan will now cost $139 per month, up from $109. The Pro plan, formerly called Max, will cost $239 per month for the same subscriber tier, an increase from $219. Creators with fewer than 2,500 subscribers can still use Beehiiv for free.

The price hike has prompted some creators on social media to reconsider their use of the platform. Beehiiv has positioned itself as an alternative to Substack, which takes a 10 percent cut of subscription revenue. Freelance journalist Tim Stevens switched to Beehiiv earlier this year, and Matt Lombardo recently moved his NFL news site Between the Hashmarks from Substack to Beehiiv.

Beehiiv recently launched a feature allowing creators to build a community into their website. This is only the second time the company has updated its plans and pricing in its near five-year history, as reported by theverge.com.
