Blip Android gaming launcher launches on Google Play Store
Blip supports dual-screen handhelds such as the AYN Thor and single-screen devices running Android 12 or later, with nine free themes.
A Spanish software engineer known as Endika has released Blip, an Android launcher built for single- and dual-screen gaming, on the Google Play Store. The launch date is October 23, 2026, according to Android Authority.
Blip is designed for handheld gaming hardware including the AYN Thor and Odin, Retroid Pocket devices, AYANEO Android Pocket handhelds and Anbernic's Android RG line. It also runs on phones, tablets and other devices with Android 12 or later.
On single-screen games, the launcher uses the lower screen to display game art, instruction booklets or game information. RetroAchievements and RomM support are available but require a one-time fee to unlock.
Cloud saves in private beta
Blip Cloud, the launcher's save backup and sync feature, is currently in private beta. It will sync saves between devices and include up to 100MB of free storage.
The launcher ships with nine themes, each offered in light and dark versions, and all of them are free. The interface is available in nine languages: English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Japanese and simplified Chinese.
Blip arrives in a market where Android handhelds such as the Retroid Pocket Duo Lite Plus and AYN Thor already ship with their own pre-installed Android frontends. Anbernic has a new dual-screen device that could begin shipping in December.
