DoorDash Unveils Six-Propeller Delivery Drone at Dash Forward 2026

DoorDash unveiled a new six-propeller autonomous drone at its Dash Forward 2026 event on Wednesday. The drone is part of the company's push into aerial delivery, a service now called DoorDash Air, created by DoorDash Labs.
DoorDash Labs also developed the Autonomous Delivery Platform, software designed to coordinate deliveries across humans, sidewalk bots, and drones. The company plans to begin early pilot drone deliveries in Northern California with partners including Chipotle, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, and Momo N Curry.
The announcement builds on DoorDash's earlier efforts in autonomous delivery. In July, DoorDash announced plans to launch the drone delivery business after receiving a Part 135 air carrier certification from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. DoorDash Labs previously built the autonomous sidewalk delivery bot Dot.
DoorDash has previously disclosed that more than 500,000 restaurants are on its delivery marketplace. The company did not provide a timeline for when the pilot deliveries would begin. TechCrunch reported on the unveiling.
