Engadget names Galaxy Z Fold 8 closest Android rival to iPhone Duo
Engadget's comparison of Apple's first foldable with US Android rivals puts the Galaxy Z Fold 8's 5.5-inch cover screen and 201g weight near the iPhone Duo's 5.4-inch, 255g build.
Engadget published a comparison on October 25, 2026 that names Samsung Electronics' Galaxy Z Fold 8 as the Android foldable closest to Apple's iPhone Duo, the company's first foldable smartphone. The comparison covered foldables sold in the US market.

On cameras, the iPhone Duo pairs two rear 48-megapixel cameras with a 12-megapixel front Center Stage camera. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 has two rear 50-megapixel cameras. Samsung and Google offer 1TB models, but no 2TB configuration like the iPhone Duo's. Xiaomi unveiled the 18 Fold a few days before the iPhone Duo was announced, with a 7.68-inch inner and 5.38-inch cover display, but it is not sold in the US and was excluded from the comparison.
