Maker Builds ESP32-S3 AM Transmitter for Vintage Tube Radios
The DIY device radiates online radio streams at 200kHz for the European long wave band using a 3D printed coil enclosure.
A maker built a small AM transmitter based on an ESP32-S3 to feed an online radio stream to vintage tube radios, according to hackaday.com. The project was dated October 7, 2026.
The ESP32-S3 generates radio frequency through a pulse chain on a GPIO pin. The output is set to 200kHz for the European long wave band.
The transmitter uses a 3D printed box with stand-offs holding a widely spaced wire coil to radiate the signal.
