final launches A8000 DC earphones with true magnesium diaphragm
The wired earphones go on sale on 30 October 2026 with an open price and an estimated market price of around 258,000 yen.
Japanese audio manufacturer final has announced the A8000 DC wired earphones, which use a newly developed true magnesium diaphragm. The earphones will be released on 30 October 2026, with reservations starting on 23 October 2026, according to av.watch.impress.co.jp.
The price is open, with an estimated market price of around 258,000 yen. The model name DC comes from the musical term Da Capo.
The diaphragm uses true magnesium with proprietary alloying for strength, while the edge uses the special polyurethane established in the development of the A10000. The diaphragm and edge are bonded without adhesive, using pressure forming and heat forming with a mold. final says the new driver unit reduces distortion compared with the true beryllium diaphragm of the A8000, even around 10 Hz.
The housing is machined stainless steel with ion plating in a deep navy finish, assembled with screws and no adhesive. The detachable cable was co-developed with Junkosha and uses silver-coated OFC wire with ePTFE insulation, terminating in a 4.4 mm plug. Sensitivity is 98 dB/mW, impedance is 13 ohms and weight is 62 g.
Two types of ear tips, FUSION-G and TYPE P, are included in five sizes each, along with a user-replaceable dust filter and a maintenance tool.
Successor to a discontinued design
final released the A8000 in 2019 with a true beryllium diaphragm. That material became difficult to continue manufacturing due to procurement circumstances and was discontinued.
