Modder brings Pascal and Maxwell GPU support to Windows XP

SupraGSX's custom ForceWare 382.69 driver adds support for GTX 10-series and 900-series cards on Windows XP 32-bit.

Modder SupraGSX has released a custom Nvidia ForceWare 382.69 driver that adds Pascal and Maxwell GPU support to Windows XP 32-bit, according to tomshardware.com. The release extends modern graphics hardware compatibility to the legacy operating system.

The driver supports GeForce GTX 970, 980, 980 Ti and GTX TITAN X (Maxwell) cards, alongside GTX 1060, 1070, 1070 Ti, 1080, 1080 Ti, TITAN X (Pascal) and TITAN Xp. Quadro M4000, M5000, M6000, M6000 24GB, P2000, P2200, P4000, P5000 and P6000 cards are also listed. GTX 1050 Ti support is marked as experimental, and the GT 1030 is omitted.

The build adds DisplayPort HBR2 and HBR3 support, HDMI 2.0 identification, mode-retry fail-safes, HDMI/DVI handling, and improved scaling and aspect ratio settings in the Nvidia Control Panel. It is based on the 368.81 driver, pulls card firmware from Quadro 376.84 drivers and Video Protected Region support from Windows 7 GeForce 378.78.

Users report the driver works well with ultrawide screens at high refresh rates. A fork of the Forceware driver for Windows XP 64-bit was deleted, though its binaries remain available on Mega.
