Frore Debuts LiquidJet Diamond Coldplate for AI Accelerators
Frore Systems says its new diamond coldplate handles hotspots up to 770 W/cm² and cuts GPU temperatures by up to 22C.
Frore Systems has introduced the LiquidJet Diamond, a bespoke liquid-cooling coldplate series aimed at AI accelerators, according to Tom's Hardware. The company plans to demonstrate the hardware at the OCP Global Summit on October 12-16.
The LiquidJet Diamond uses a diamond surface combined with a multi-stage 3D short-loop jet-channel microstructure to target hotspot cooling on AI accelerators. Frore claims the coldplates can handle hotspots up to 770 W/cm².
The company also claims up to 22C of GPU temperature reduction compared with conventional coldplates, along with up to a 35% improvement in AI token throughput per watt.
At the OCP Global Summit, Frore says it will showcase cooling for Nvidia's 2,300W Rubin accelerator.
Earlier coldplate work
Frore previously developed the original LiquidJet coldplate, which it says reduces GPU temperatures by about 12C versus conventional skived coldplates based on its simulation model. That design handled hotspots of approximately 600 W/cm², according to the company. Frore also developed the LiquidJet Nexus bespoke coldplate for Nvidia Blackwell and Nvidia Rubin-based servers.
