Galaxy A38 leak points to 6,000mAh battery and price above $500
Galaxy Club reports a rated 5,882mAh cell for the Samsung Galaxy A38, with a 6,000mAh typical figure expected in marketing.
Samsung's next Galaxy A38 will carry a rated battery capacity of 5,882mAh, according to a Galaxy Club report, with the Dutch publication expecting Samsung to advertise a typical capacity of 6,000mAh. Android Authority relayed the report.
Galaxy Club expects the phone to launch early next year and to be priced above $500. The publication also says it does not expect the A38 to use a silicon-carbon battery.
If the typical figure lands at 6,000mAh, it would match the largest capacity ever used in Samsung's A-Series. The A3x family has stuck with 5,000mAh cells for the past six years, a run that began with the 2020 Galaxy A31, which started at around $250. This year's Galaxy A37 was priced at $449.
Capacity gap with rivals
Battery size has become a visible selling point elsewhere in the market. This year's OnePlus 16 has a 9,000mAh battery, while Realme's P4 Power lists 10,001mAh. Samsung has been touting silicon-carbon battery technology in this year's Galaxy Z foldables, though Galaxy Club does not expect that approach in the A38.
For comparison, Samsung's Galaxy S26 Ultra carries a 5,000mAh battery and costs $1,400 at its regular starting price.
