MIIT Listing Drops UWB From Samsung Galaxy S27+
New Chinese certification entries show UWB support limited to the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra, with the S27+ and base model left out.
New listings on China's MIIT certification database indicate that the Samsung Galaxy S27+ will not support UWB, according to gsmarena.com. The same filings show the feature reserved for the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra.
The MIIT entries cover four models in the Galaxy S27 series: the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra. Only the Pro and Ultra variants appear with UWB support; the base Galaxy S27 is listed without it, alongside the Plus model.
The omission marks a change for the Plus line. UWB has been present on Samsung Galaxy Plus models since the Galaxy S21+, so the S27+ would be the first in that line to ship without it, based on these listings.
The base Galaxy S27 carrying no UWB is consistent with earlier entries in the series, as none of the previous vanilla Galaxy S models had the feature. The Galaxy S27 series is expected to arrive in early 2027.
