Tip: Galaxy S27 Ultra to Use Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 Only

An insider tip claims every Galaxy S27 Ultra will run the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, with Exynos limited to other S27 models in some regions.

A new insider tip claims there is little chance the Exynos 2700 will be used in the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra, and that every unit of the phone will instead use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, according to gsmarena.com.

The same tip indicates the rest of the lineup will be split by region. It claims the Galaxy S27, S27+ and the new S27 Pro will use Exynos in Europe and Korea, and Snapdragon in China and the US.

According to the tip, a final decision on the chipsets has not yet been made, so the reported split remains unconfirmed.

The Exynos 2700 is fabbed on Samsung's SF2P, a second-generation 2nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) node. Compared to the first-gen SF2 node used for the Exynos 2600, SF2P offers a 12% performance improvement, a 25% reduction in power usage and an 8% decrease in chip area.

Samsung System LSI, which designed the Exynos 2700, is pushing for it to be adopted in the top S flagship, and reports say Samsung pushed Exynos 2700 production more than 10% higher than the Exynos 2600.
