Gmail for Android may get redesigned settings page, APK teardown shows
An APK teardown indicates Google is developing a redesigned Gmail settings page on Android that could group options into categories.
Google is working on a redesigned Gmail settings page for Android, according to an APK teardown reported by Android Authority. The teardown shows code pointing to a new layout for the settings screen inside the app.
The redesigned page could group settings into relevant categories, rather than presenting them as a single list. Chat- and Meet-related settings would get their own space under the proposed layout.
The teardown does not indicate a release date or a wider rollout plan for the change, and Google has not announced the redesign.
Other Google apps
Google has also shown evidence of redesigned settings pages for the Google app and the Gemini app, suggesting work on settings interfaces across more than one of its Android apps.
