Gmail Live May Add Seven New Voice Options, APK Teardown Suggests
An APK teardown indicates Gmail Live could soon offer seven additional voices through a new three-dot menu, with most drawn from Gemini Live.
Gmail Live may soon expand its voice options, according to an APK teardown reported by Android Authority. The teardown indicates the conversational search feature could add 7 new voices alongside its current single option.
The additional voices would be selectable through a new three-dot menu, the teardown suggests. Most of the Gemini Live voices appear set to be carried over to Gmail's AI search experience, with a couple excluded.
One caveat noted in the teardown: changing the voice in Gmail Live could restart the chat and cause the conversation to be lost.
Google recently rolled out Gmail Live, a conversational search experience in the Gmail app that scans emails to find information such as dates for future events or meetings.
As with any APK teardown, the findings are not confirmation of an official release. Google has not announced a timeline for the additional voices.
