Google adds scam check to Circle to Search on Android
Users can circle a suspicious text message and get an AI Overview flagging red flags, with options to delete it or block the sender.
Google announced on October 15, 2026 a new feature for Circle to Search on Android that lets users check suspicious text messages for scam risks, according to k-tai.watch.impress.co.jp.
To use it, a user long-presses the home button or navigation bar to start Circle to Search, then circles the suspect message. The AI analyzes the text and displays an AI Overview containing warnings and recommended actions.
If the check shows red flags, users can delete the message or block the sender directly.
According to Google, the feature is meant to help users spot dangers before they tap suspicious links or enter personal information.
Google did not indicate whether the feature will be available in Japan.
