Google unveils EmbeddingGemma 2 and AI Edge Foresight Mac app

EmbeddingGemma 2 is a 740 million parameter model under Apache 2.0; Foresight turns shorthand into notes entirely on device.

Google announced EmbeddingGemma 2, a multimodal embedding model that organizes, searches and connects information directly on consumer hardware. The company also introduced Google AI Edge Foresight, a Mac app for intelligent notetaking, according to 9to5google.com.

EmbeddingGemma 2 is a 740 million parameter model built on the Gemma 4 architecture and released under an Apache 2.0 license.

Google AI Edge Foresight listens in the background during video or in-person meetings and enriches handwritten shorthand bullets into polished notes using the meeting transcript. Transcripts and audio are processed entirely on device rather than in the cloud. The app can be pointed at project folders, reference materials, diagrams and calendar, supporting local files and Google Drive.

On-device demos

Demos of EmbeddingGemma 2 are available in Google AI Edge Gallery on Android and iOS.

Google AI Edge Foresight joins two other Mac apps in the family: AI Edge Gallery and AI Edge Eloquent for offline transcription.
