Google to open Gemini popup campus in Seoul, host DeepMind meetups

Google will run a 'Snacki Gemini Campus' popup in Seongsu-dong from October 30 to November 1, 2026, alongside DeepMind university meetups in three cities.

Google announced it will open a popup store called 'Snacki Gemini Campus' in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, running from October 30 to November 1, 2026, as part of a push to give university students and Gen Z hands-on experience with its Gemini AI, according to digitaltoday.co.kr.

The popup is a collaboration with the YouTube web variety show '전과자' and is themed as a virtual campus. Visitors can issue a mobile student ID and move through major booths including business administration and aerospace engineering, along with club booths and missions. On-site demonstrations cover 'Deep Research', 'Canvas', 'Gemini Notebook' and a conversational visualization tool. Live special lectures are scheduled with producer Go Dong-wan on October 30, Ssudragon of Geekble on October 31, and Oppadu Excel on November 1.

Revenue from the popup will be donated in the joint name of Google Gemini and '전과자' to support tuition for low-income university students in Korea.

DeepMind meetups in three cities

Separately, Google DeepMind AI research and development and UX design staff will tour Busan, Daejeon and Seoul from October 27 to 29 for university student meetups. Applications for the meetups are accepted until October 18.

On October 12, 2026, Google held a mid-term gathering of its 'Google Student Ambassador Season 2' program at JW Marriott Hotel Seoul, with about 200 participants from 68 universities nationwide.
