Report: Google Taps Gemini Overlay for 'Shop This'

Early evidence has surfaced that Google is developing a "Shop this" suggestion for Gemini's floating overlay, according to an Android Authority Authority Insights report. The report describes the feature as a work in progress and does not indicate an announcement or release date.

According to the report, the suggested feature would recognize products visible on screen, summarize their selling points, and offer comparisons. It would let users look up products across the apps they use, distinguishing it from existing Gemini retail tools.

Google has not confirmed the feature. The evidence cited by Android Authority is early and does not establish when or whether the capability might reach users.
