Google Home Adds Doorbell Chime Previews
Google Home now lets you preview Nest Doorbell chimes in the app, including standard tones and an Oktoberfest theme that ends October 9th.
Google Home has added a new feature that lets users preview doorbell chimes directly within the app. The update, reported by 9to5google.com, includes audio previews for standard chimes as well as limited-time holiday themes.
Currently, the only seasonal theme available is Oktoberfest. That sound will end its annual run on October 9th.
The ability to preview chimes before selecting them gives Nest Doorbell owners a way to hear exactly what visitors will hear, without having to trigger the doorbell itself.
Google has not indicated whether additional seasonal themes will be added after Oktoberfest concludes.
