Google Home Fix Restores Smart Bulb Color Control

Google is rolling out a Google Home update that fixes a bug which prevented proper color adjustment on smart bulbs from brands including Philips Hue, Tuya, and Lumiman.

Google is rolling out a fix for a Google Home bug that prevented proper color adjustment on smart bulbs, according to 9to5google.com. The bug affected devices from multiple brands, including Philips Hue, Tuya, and Lumiman, and impacted both voice controls and app controls, such as color sliders.

The issue was reported less than a day before Google began working on a fix, and an update rolled out a few hours later. Google responded to a Reddit thread saying a fix was rolling out. After the fix, the Reddit post author said voice commands and the app reliably control bulb color again.

In background, as of last month, Google Assistant has officially faded into the background as Google works on other additions to the app. Google Home releases monthly updates to address functions and bugs.
