Google Wallet Trials Vertically Stacked Card List on Android
The Android redesign shows one full card preview with a sliver of the next, and can expand into a fullscreen card list. It is not widely rolled out yet.
Google Wallet for Android is trialing a vertically stacked card list design that is gradually appearing on more devices, according to 9to5google.com. The redesign replaces the horizontal carousel that currently sits at the top of the app's screen, in which saved cards are lined up side by side.
In the new layout, one card appears as a full preview, with only a sliver of a second card visible at the top. Tapping or swiping down opens a fullscreen view of the card list, so users can move through their saved cards from that expanded screen.
Settings gear moves to the top right
The revamp also adds a settings gear icon in the top-right corner. From there, users can reach card details and transaction history.
The stacked list has been spotted on more devices, though it is not yet widely rolled out. Earlier this year, Google Wallet received a homepage redesign and a fullscreen passes revamp.
The original report on September 14 noted that the then-current design displayed saved cards as a horizontal carousel at the top of the screen. Over the weekend there were a handful of reports about this rollout, mostly from international users.
