Googlebooks' Better Together Features Skip Samsung Phones at Launch

Google says the phone-integration features work only with Pixel devices for now, with Samsung support promised in the coming weeks.

Google has confirmed that the Better Together integration features on its newly available Googlebooks do not work with Samsung phones at launch, according to Ars Technica. The features currently function only with Pixel phones.

Googlebooks are now on sale, and the Better Together integrations require a phone running Android 17. Buyers pairing a Samsung device will not be able to use those features for the time being.

Google said the limitation also applies to the latest Samsung phones, including the Z Fold 8, which shipped with Android 17.

The company said an update adding Samsung support will roll out in the coming weeks.

Earlier promise of out-of-the-box pairing

When Google announced the launch window for Googlebooks, it said the laptops were engineered to work with your Android phone right out of the box.
