Gudea Pitches AI Crisis Detection on Startup Battlefield Stage

Gudea presented its AI tool that tracks brewing online crises across more than 500 websites and platforms, and said it has nearly 40 clients.

Gudea pitched its AI-based reputation-crisis detection platform on the Startup Battlefield stage at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 on Wednesday afternoon, according to TechCrunch. The company describes itself as a storm tracker for the internet, using AI to help organizations spot brewing online crises.

Gudea analyzes behavior, relationships and information pathways across more than 500 mainstream and fringe websites and platforms, including X, Reddit and TikTok. CEO Keith Presley said the company has nearly 40 clients.

Narrative geolocation planned for next year

Gudea also outlined a geolocation for narratives feature slated for next year, intended to pinpoint where conversations happen down to the city-block level.

Gudea was founded in 2023 by Presley, Jonathan Sperber and James Thomin. The team began with the George Washington Initiative, a nonprofit established after the 2020 election, which adapted intelligence-community tactics used overseas against networks tied to Al Qaeda and ISIS for domestic information campaigns. Presley said that when the team started in 2021 and as a company in 2023, roughly one out of four things they looked at had inauthentic activity, while now it is probably nine out of ten.
