Huawei Mate 90 and Mate 90 Pro launch in China
Huawei's Mate 90 and Mate 90 Pro are now on sale in China via vmall, with the Pro featuring a 6.75-inch 120Hz LTPO OLED and Kirin 9035.
Huawei has launched the Mate 90 and Mate 90 Pro in China, with both phones available now on vmall. The Pro model leads the lineup with a 6.75-inch LTPO OLED display that offers 1280p+ resolution and a 1-120Hz refresh rate, using a dual-layer panel that reaches 12,000 nits peak brightness.
Inside, the Mate 90 Pro runs on Huawei's Kirin 9035 chipset, which the company says is 20% faster than the chip in the previous Pro model. It is paired with a 6,600mAh battery supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless SuperCharge, and the phone ships with Harmony OS 7.
The camera system on the Mate 90 Pro combines a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP telephoto, and a 40MP ultra-wide, plus a 13MP selfie camera. The standard Mate 90 steps down to the Kirin 9030 chipset and starts at CNY 6,000, with 12GB RAM and a choice of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB storage. Its telephoto camera uses a 50MP RYYB sensor with a 4x, f/2.2 OIS lens and an 88mm focal length.
The Mate 90 Pro's base 12/256GB configuration is priced at CNY 7,000. For context, the Mate 80 Pro with the same 12/256GB memory was priced CNY 1,000 less at launch last year, and it came with an 80W wireless charging capability, a 5,750mAh battery, and the Kirin 9030 chipset, while the vanilla Mate 80 used the Kirin 9020.
