Hyundai Ioniq 3 Goes on Sale in the UK From £18,495

Hyundai has opened UK orders for its electric Ioniq 3, with the entry Advance trim offering a 42 kWh battery and a 213-mile range.

Hyundai has opened UK orders for the all-electric Ioniq 3 compact hatchback, with prices starting at £18,495 after the £3,750 Electric Car Grant, according to Engadget. The entry Advance trim pairs a 42 kWh battery with a 213-mile range.

At the top of the range, the N-Line Evo version costs £31,945 and uses a 61 kWh battery good for up to 308 miles of range. The car is built on a 400V architecture and can charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 29 minutes.

The Ioniq 3 is Hyundai's first vehicle in Europe to use the new Pleos Connect infotainment system, which runs on Android Automotive OS. Depending on trim, buyers get either a 12.9-inch or a 14.6-inch infotainment display.

Hyundai builds the Ioniq 3 in Turkey and says it has no plans to bring the model to the US.

Context

The Ioniq 3 was first introduced in April. Ashley Andrew, president of Hyundai Motor UK, said the model drew more customer registrations of interest before launch than any other Hyundai introduced in the country. US buyers looking for a comparable electric Hyundai option can turn to the slightly larger Ioniq 5 or the more recent Kia EV3, which starts at around $31,000.
