Instinct Lets Users Add Its AI Agent to Group Chats
Instinct says its AI agent can join group chats even when friends don't have an Instinct account, starting with early access users.
Instinct announced on Monday that users can add its AI agent to group chats with friends. The company said the chats work even if a user's friends haven't joined Instinct.
The feature is rolling out first to Instinct's early access users, according to TechCrunch. Instinct said it will expand the group chat feature to all users "soon." Users who want to try it early can ask their Instinct agent to put them on the list.
Instinct is now valued at $10 billion as of its latest funding round. The group chat launch follows a run of agent features across the category: last week, OpenAI launched ChatGPT Dots, personal AI agents that can also be used in ChatGPT Spaces.
Meta's Muse does not yet offer group chat functionality, though Meta AI can be added to group chats on WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, and Facebook. Both Instinct and Muse have added the ability to make phone calls over the past couple of weeks.
