Apple's iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are incremental upgrades over the iPhone 17 Pro series, according to a review from Engadget. The new models retain the aluminum unibody design of their predecessors but add refinements to the display, camera, and weight.
The iPhone 18 Pro weighs 7.44 ounces, up from 7.27 ounces on the iPhone 17 Pro. The iPhone 18 Pro Max weighs 8.78 ounces, compared with 8.22 ounces for the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Both come in Black, Silver, Glacier, and Burgundy.
The 6.3-inch iPhone 18 Pro and 6.9-inch iPhone 18 Pro Max use OLED displays with refresh rates up to 120Hz and outdoor brightness up to 3,000 nits. The Dynamic Island is smaller than on the 17 Pro series and now supports up to three simultaneous Live Activities.
The main camera can switch between f/1.48, f/1.8, f/2.8, and f/4.0 apertures, whereas the iPhone 17 Pro has a fixed f/1.78 aperture. Apple also adds manual shutter speed and white balance controls plus an on-screen histogram. Rear-camera Cinematic mode now records up to 4K at 60 frames per second, up from 4K/30 fps on the 17 Pro series.
