iPhone Duo owners report inner screens cracking near crease

Some early buyers say damage appeared within hours of receiving the $2,000 foldable, with the first reports coming from China and Australia.

Some early owners of Apple's iPhone Duo are reporting cracked inner screens, with the damage appearing along the crease, according to Android Authority. The $2,000 foldable became available to customers on October 23, 2026.

One owner, Reddit user Midnight_Slump, said the screen broke after fewer than 20 unfolds and about six hours of ownership. That owner said an Apple Store replaced the phone on the spot.

Early reports of the problem first came from China and Australia. Reddit user Bitter_Offer7123 compiled images from Chinese communities showing damage in nearly the same spot along the crease.

Reviews published earlier in the week, before the launch, did not report the cracking issue. YouTubers Tim Pan and Joanna Stern had put the foldable through multi-fold tests, seeing wear and tear after thousands of folds but no cracking.
