iPhone Duo pre-orders open in Korea with delivery dates slipping to 2027
Apple's first foldable went up for pre-order on October 16 ahead of an October 23 launch, but online orders now show January 2027 delivery.
Apple began taking pre-orders for its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, in South Korea on October 16, a week before the device's official launch on October 23, according to digitaltoday.co.kr. Delivery estimates on Apple's official online store in South Korea for the 256GB Star White model are listed as January 22, 2027, roughly three months after launch.
Estimated delivery dates in the United States have also slipped into next year. The iPhone Duo's list price exceeds 3 million won.
SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus are running pre-orders in batches according to their initial stock and future supply schedules. SK Telecom is offering benefits worth up to 2.21 million won that combine used-phone trade-in and partner card discounts.
Supply constraints behind the wait
Meritz Securities said in an October 19 report that initial demand for the iPhone Duo has been confirmed, but yield problems in key parts and final assembly are making production expansion difficult. The researcher Yang Seung-soo cited yield issues with the exterior hinge and ultra-thin glass (UTG), along with poor yields at the OEM stage.
Apple's shipment target for this year is 6 million units, according to the report.
