iPhone Duo, Apple's first foldable, launches in South Korea
The foldable iPhone ships without a telephoto camera and uses Touch ID on the side button, while the USB-C Apple Pencil is the only stylus it supports.
Apple's first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, goes on sale in South Korea on October 23, 2026, a day after the launch coverage published by digitaltoday.co.kr. The device is Apple's first phone with a folding display.
The iPhone Duo carries main and ultra-wide rear cameras but has no dedicated telephoto lens, unlike the iPhone 18 Pro. Instead, it reaches 2x optical-quality zoom by cropping the 48-megapixel main sensor. Its front camera is 12 megapixels, below the 18 megapixels of recent iPhones.
Apple replaced Face ID with Touch ID on the side button and dropped the Action button, though the Camera Control stays. iOS 27 was tuned for the foldable screen, and apps arrange themselves across both displays when the phone is folded. Netflix, Zoom and Slack are each scheduled to ship updates for the foldable screen on launch day.
Accessories and charging
The iPhone Duo case costs 119,000 won in Korea, and the Duo Folio, a case with a built-in stand, costs 199,000 won. The phone supports up to 60W output and, with a 40W Dynamic Power Adapter, reaches 50 percent battery in about 20 minutes.
It is the first iPhone to support Apple Pencil, usable after a software update due within the year. Only the USB-C Apple Pencil works; the Apple Pencil 2nd generation and Apple Pencil Pro cannot be used with the device.
On October 20, 2026, Engadget listed camera, biometrics, app optimization and accessory compatibility as the points buyers should check before purchasing the iPhone Duo.
