Apple to personalize iPhone Duo setup screens at US stores

Apple plans to give iPhone Duo buyers who purchase the device at US Apple Stores a personalized initial setup screen displaying their name, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported.
The customized boot greeting will be exclusive to the iPhone Duo and will support both English and Spanish, according to Gurman.
Apple retail stores will use a system to customize the boot process of the device, he said.
Pre-orders and availability
iPhone Duo pre-orders open Friday, October 16, with deliveries and in-store availability beginning October 23.
Gurman first reported on Presto, the system that lets Apple retail employees power on iPhones, install software updates and power them off while the device stays sealed in its packaging, in 2023. Apple recently told customers they could get ready for iPhone Duo pre-orders starting October 12.
