iPhone Duo Preorders Slip to January 25 at Apple Store
Apple's US online store now shows a January 25 ship date for every iPhone Duo configuration, hours after preorders opened on October 16, 2026.
Preorders for the iPhone Duo opened on October 16, 2026 at 5am PT/8am ET, and within half an hour Apple's US online store was already listing a shipping delay to January 25 for all configurations. The iPhone Duo is Apple's first foldable iPhone and goes on sale in the US on Friday, October 23.
Carrier and retail estimates vary. AT&T lists iPhone Duo ship dates of November 9 or December 1, while Verizon shows dates between November 6 and December 4. T-Mobile lists shipping estimates from October 23 to November 3, and Best Buy lists preorder estimates over the same October 23 to November 3 window.
The slippage follows a pattern seen in past Apple launches. In 2016, preorders for the iPhone 7 Plus showed initial delays of around two months, and in 2017 iPhone X preorders were hit by shipping delays of five to six weeks.
Apple had limited room to absorb the shortfall. As little as two months before October 2026, the company thought it might not be able to launch the new iPhone until later in November, according to Bloomberg's Power On newsletter.
