Jaguar Unveils Type 01, Its First EV, From $130,500
Jaguar's four-door electric grand tourer packs three motors, 1,016 horsepower and up to 400 miles of range. Orders are expected to open in early 2027.
Jaguar has revealed the Type 01, its first electric vehicle and the production version of the Type 00 concept, according to The Verge. The car is a four-door electric grand tourer with three electric motors producing up to 1,016 horsepower and 1,365Nm of torque.
Jaguar says the Type 01 accelerates from 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds and reaches 112mph in a further 4.0 seconds. A 118kWh battery provides up to 400 miles of range, and 350kW DC charging adds 200 miles in as little as 13 minutes.
Inside, the Type 01 has a 24-inch OLED display behind the steering wheel, plus 7-inch screens in the central spine front and rear.
Jaguar has opened signups for customers to register interest, and teases that one variant will cost $130,500. Orders are expected to open in early 2027, with cars shipping in the second half of the year.
From concept to production
The Type 00 concept that previewed the car was a polarising design whose aesthetic largely carried over to the production Type 01. The Type 00's design chief was reportedly fired earlier this year.
