Jaguar Unveils Type 01 Production EV With 450-Mile Range

The Type 01 keeps the Type 00 concept's look and packs 1,016 hp, an 850-volt architecture and a 118 kWh battery, but no sale date yet.

Jaguar has unveiled the production version of its Type 01 electric vehicle, according to Engadget. The car keeps a design similar to the Type 00 concept that preceded it.

The Type 01 measures 17.1 feet long and has a 37.7-foot turning circle, with rear wheels that can turn up to six degrees. Jaguar quotes a drag coefficient of 0.23 Cd with the optional 21-inch wheels.

Power comes from three electric motors producing 1,016 horsepower and 1,007 pound-feet of torque, backed by an 850-volt architecture and a 118 kWh battery. Jaguar claims 450 miles of WLTP range, about 385 miles EPA, and up to 320 miles at sustained highway speeds. The 0 to 60 mph sprint takes 3.2 seconds.

The chassis uses double-wishbone front and integral-link rear suspension with Dynamic Air Suspension, and five drive modes: Jaguar, Dynamic, Efficient, Ice & Snow and Curated. Active aerodynamics include front active vanes and a three-stage rear spoiler that generates 165.3 pounds of downforce.

Inside, there is a seven-inch central console and a 24-inch touchscreen. Jaguar has not announced when the Type 01 will go on sale, and the price is expected to be in the low- to mid-$100,000 range.
