Kakao Impact Foundation Holds Senior AI Contest Finals
64 finalists aged 60 and over competed in three AI rounds on October 15; the Cheongju Naedeok team won the science ministry's top award.
Kakao Impact Foundation announced on October 19 that it held the finals of the National Senior AI Golden Bell on October 15. A total of 64 people aged 60 and over, who had passed the nationwide preliminary rounds, took part, with an average age of 71.9, according to digitaltoday.co.kr.
The finals connected Kakao Pangyo Agit online to 16 senior welfare centers across the country and were livestreamed on the Kakao Impact YouTube channel. Participants submitted their answers through a mobile game application.
The competition ran in three stages: basic AI knowledge, AI and digital life and safety knowledge, and hands-on use of ChatGPT for Kakao. The Cheongju Naedeok Senior Welfare Center team received the top award, the Minister of Science and ICT Award.
A separate AI special award, judged on group photos made with AI, was held for the 16 teams that reached the finals.
