KakaoBank Launches Debit Card With Daily Switchable Cashback
KakaoBank The Check Card offers three benefit packs users can change once a day, capped at 20,000 won monthly, alongside an AI tax-deduction calculator.
KakaoBank launched 'KakaoBank The Check Card', a debit card whose cashback benefits customers can change once a day, according to digitaltoday.co.kr.
The card carries three benefit packs: 'Anywhere', 'Thrifty' and 'Year-end Tax Settlement'. Customers can switch packs through the 'My Card' section of the KakaoBank app, with the new choice applying from the next payment.
'Anywhere' pays 0.5% cashback at domestic merchants. 'Thrifty' pays 5% at major lifestyle brands including GS25, Daiso and Olive Young, as well as on membership subscriptions and MVNO telecom payments. 'Year-end Tax Settlement' pays 5% in income and tax deduction areas such as traditional markets, opticians, gyms, hospitals, academies and pharmacies, and also covers cultural spending at Kyobo Book Centre and CGV.
Combined cashback across the three packs is capped at 20,000 won per month and 1,000 won per day. The benefit structure runs until June 30, 2027, with plans to change it seasonally afterwards. The card also includes the 'Moduui Card (K-Pass)' function by default.
Alongside the card, KakaoBank introduced an AI-based income deduction calculator in the app for checking estimated deductions and year-end tax refunds.
