Kolon Benit starts AX project with Isu Chemical and two Seowoo firms
Kolon Benit will build AI quality prediction, predictive maintenance and process optimization systems at three manufacturers under a state-backed program.
Kolon Benit has named Isu Chemical, Seowoo Industry and Seowoo Advanced Materials as the companies taking part in a state-backed program to build leading models of cooperative artificial intelligence transformation (AX), and has begun work on the project, according to dailysecu.com.
The program is overseen by the Korea Technology Information Promotion Agency, with Kolon Benit managing it overall and the Korea Productivity Center taking part as a partner organization.
At Seowoo Industry and Seowoo Advanced Materials, the project will establish AI quality prediction, equipment predictive maintenance and process condition optimization systems. The nonwoven production lines at Seowoo Industry will use an AI quality prediction model and digital twin-based simulation. Seowoo Advanced Materials will get automatic recommendations of optimal conditions, real-time quality prediction and anomaly detection, predictive maintenance and an integrated control system.
Isu Chemical will build an AI operation support system tailored to continuous chemical processes. AI setpoints will be applied to the control system only after operator approval. The company will also adopt predictive maintenance and a real-time carbon emissions management system.
Kolon Benit said it assesses each site first and then forms a consortium of suitable technology companies. Participating firms receive support with an AX roadmap, a data standardization map, infrastructure and employee training.
Earlier selection
In July 2026, Kolon Benit was selected as the organization overseeing the program.
