Kolong Benit launches AI transformation project with three manufacturers

Kolong Benit will oversee the project with the Korea Productivity Center as a collaborating body, starting with the partners' production lines.

Kolong Benit said on October 19 that it has selected Lee Soo Chemical, Seo Woo Industrial and Seo Woo Advanced Materials as adopting companies for its win-win AI transformation (AX) leading model project and has begun the work, according to techm.kr. Kolong Benit will oversee the project, with the Korea Productivity Center taking part as a collaborating body.

At Seo Woo Industrial, AI quality prediction and digital-twin simulation will be applied to the nonwoven fabric line to check thickness and density variation in advance. At Seo Woo Advanced Materials, Kolong Benit will build a system that automatically recommends optimal conditions for raw material input, drying and spinning.

For Lee Soo Chemical, the project covers an AI operation support system for continuous chemical processes, with AI setpoints applied only after operator approval.

Kolong Benit will also provide AX roadmap building, data standardization guidance, AI and data infrastructure and staff training to Seo Woo Industrial and Seo Woo Advanced Materials. Each task will run for one year.

Jang Jae-yong, head of Kolong Benit's DX division, said the company plans to expand its manufacturing AX business using field experience and data and AI capabilities accumulated with group manufacturing affiliates.
