LG Electronics Shows 68-Year Appliance History on Times Square Billboard

LG Electronics released a 160-second brand heritage video titled 'Life Asks, LG Answers' on a Times Square billboard in New York.

LG Electronics said on 19 October that it had released a 160-second brand heritage video titled “Life Asks, LG Answers” on a billboard in Times Square, New York, according to inews24.com.

The video traces the company’s home appliance innovation from its founding in 1958 and closes with a look at where it intends to go next: physical AI areas including the AI home and home robots. It ends with the home robot LG CLOiD.

LG Electronics plans to screen the video next at Piccadilly Circus in London and on major OTT platforms, where 30-second edited versions will also run.

The company’s earlier milestones form the backbone of the spot. In 1965 it released the 눈표냉장고 (GR-120) refrigerator, and in 1969 it brought out 백조세탁기 (WP-181), described as Korea’s first washing machine. In 1962 the company began developing motors for electric fans.

Later products shown include the LG TWINWash, introduced in 2015 with a small top-load washer beneath a drum washer, and the LG WashTower, launched in 2020 with a stacked washer and dryer. The video also covers the LG Objet Collection line of customizable appliances and LG CLOi, the service robot introduced in 2018 for guidance, delivery and serving.

The head of LG Electronics HS Marketing Communication said the company will share its heritage and future vision with global customers.
