macOS 27.2 Beta 3 Code Points to Touch Gestures in Safari, Notes
Apple's latest macOS beta includes code references for touch input, including a Notes recognizer and a Safari touch sentinel.
Apple has released macOS 27.2 beta 3, and the build contains code references tied to touch input across several system apps, according to appleinsider.com. The references cover new gestures in apps including Safari and Notes.
In the Notes app, the code references a feature named ICTouchPressGestureRecognizer. QuickLook, the system preview tool, gained a dragTouch capability, and Safari was updated with what the code describes as a touch sentinel recognizer.
The findings are code-level references inside a developer beta, not announced features. Apple has not described any touch functionality for the Mac in the release notes of this beta.
Talk of a MacBook Pro with a touchscreen has circulated for years, but Apple has not confirmed such a product or said that macOS 27.2 will bring touch support to the Mac.
