Meta launches AI agent Muse in Japan, its first market outside North America
Muse is available on iOS, Android and the web in Japan, and Meta is pursuing integrations with Mercari, MoneyForward ME and Ticket Pia.
Meta launched its personal AI agent Muse in Japan on October 23, 2026, the company's first market for the product outside North America. Muse is available through iOS and Android apps and on the web, according to techm.kr.
The agent can plan trips and carry out booking steps, draft and send emails, and open a browser to fill in online forms on the user's behalf. Tasks continue running even when the app is closed, and users get notifications at steps that need approval, such as sending an email or buying a product.
Meta is pursuing integrations with Japanese services Mercari, MoneyForward ME and Ticket Pia, in addition to Gmail, Google Calendar, Instagram, Shopify and Trip.com.
Security model and pricing
Muse runs in a per-user isolated virtual environment called Muse Secure VM, with a separate security agent managing internet access. Meta says passwords and payment details cannot be viewed by the AI, and that Muse conversations and virtual machine data are not shared with its ad systems.
Basic features are free, with a paid subscription for advanced features. Meta launched Muse in North America in September 2025, and at the Meta Connect developer event in September the company unveiled new features including voice conversation, real-time avatars and a dedicated email address.
