Meta adds real-time voice calls to its Muse AI agent

Meta is rolling out voice calls for Muse and testing an animated avatar sharing option, with rollout timing varying by account.

Meta has begun rolling out a real-time voice call feature for its personal AI agent Muse, starting around October 24, 2026, according to TestingCatalog and user reports. Some users have not yet received the feature, suggesting the rollout timing differs by account.

During setup, the voice feature asks users whether they want to change the voice and offers options based on a description of the desired voice. Each request for a new voice returns three options, according to user Dave Gambrill. Spoken conversation is also displayed as text on the chat screen.

Separately, Meta is preparing an animated avatar sharing option for the web version of Muse, TestingCatalog reported. A Share option appears next to the avatar editing menu, and the avatar preview shows four animated states, including a working state. The avatar sharing feature has not been released to general users, and no official launch date is known.

The voice rollout follows earlier Muse announcements. On September 23, 2026, Meta unveiled Muse Real-Time Avatar, technology that turns photos, illustrations and object images into animated characters whose mouths, expressions and gestures move with speech. On October 23, 2026, Meta launched Muse in Japan, its first market outside North America.
