Microsoft Tests New Gaming Task View in Xbox Mode for Windows 11

The refreshed Gaming Task View adds a navigation bar with quick access to Exit to Desktop and Power Options, and is testing among Windows Insiders.

Microsoft has added a refreshed Gaming Task View experience to Xbox mode in Windows 11, the company said, according to Windows Central. The updated view introduces a navigation bar that gives users quick access to Exit to Desktop and Power Options.

The feature is currently in testing among Windows Insiders in the Beta and Experimental channels. Microsoft also released builds across every Windows Insider channel to close out the week.

The same set of builds brings Windows Hello the ability to temporarily brighten the screen, helping users sign in when they are in a dark room.

Magnifier now supports per-monitor zoom, letting each display keep its own view and zoom level. The option is turned on by default and can be turned off under Accessibility > Magnifier. Magnifier can also lock a screen's view in place with the shortcut Ctrl + Windows key + K.

Separately, the new Device Info Card experience for Settings Home is expanding to additional markets globally for Windows Insiders signed in with a Microsoft account.
