Microsoft unveils Xbox Nano controller, priced at $50
The Xbox Nano is Microsoft's smallest Xbox controller yet, with 18 standard inputs, an Action Button, and November availability outside the US.
Microsoft announced the Xbox Nano controller, which it describes as the smallest Xbox controller yet. The controller is priced at $50 and preorders are open now in the US on the Xbox site, according to CNET.
The Nano is just over 5 inches long and weighs 3.5 ounces. It carries all 18 standard gameplay inputs and matches the layout of the standard Xbox controller, plus a programmable Action Button that can be customized for features such as taking screenshots and capturing gameplay.
The controller includes a rechargeable battery and connects over Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth. It will reach other markets including Australia, Canada and the UK beginning in November.
Holiday bundles
Microsoft is also tying the Nano to holiday offers. Select Samsung TV purchases this holiday season will include the Nano controller and two months of Game Pass Ultimate, and Quest headset purchases come with the Nano and two free months of Game Pass Ultimate.
The Xbox app is available through the Gaming Hub built into Samsung TVs, and CNET has reviewed Game Pass, calling it pricey but a useful add-on for gamers. For size comparison, an iPhone 18 Pro is 5.9 inches long and weighs 7.4 ounces, while a current standard Xbox One wireless controller is just over 6 inches long and weighs 9.9 ounces without batteries, according to CNET managing editor for computers and gaming Josh Goldman.
