Mirror Particle Eyes First Venture Round, Joins Startup Battlefield 200
The San Francisco startup is building a world model of consumer behavior and will pitch at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 in San Francisco.
Mirror Particle, a two-year-old San Francisco startup building what it describes as a world model of human behavior for brands, said it is close to closing its first venture round and will compete in Startup Battlefield 200 at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, held in San Francisco on October 13-15.
The company provides brands with an AI engine designed to predict consumer behavior and the reasons behind it. Its foundation model simulates why people behave as they do and how that behavior changes over time.
Mirror Particle's approach draws on clients' customer data, current events, pop culture and social media, with a focus on revealed behavior rather than self-reported survey answers. Before the venture round, the startup raised an angel round, according to TechCrunch.
The company was founded by Abhivyakti Ahuja, who studied neuroscience and computer science at the University of Toronto, where she was inspired by Geoffrey Hinton's contributions to neural networks. She later worked at Amazon Robotics, where she met co-founders Will Song and Thomson Yen.
A crowded field
Mirror Particle enters a market where other startups are also modeling human behavior. Over the past year, Simile raised $200 million at a $2 billion valuation and Aaru raised $88 million at a $1 billion valuation. In January, Humans& announced a $480 million seed round at a $4.48 billion valuation and launched Persimmon to model human behavior.
